Is registration required to join the IUPAC|CHAINS 2023 congress?

Yes, registration will be required to attend the IUPAC|CHAINS World Chemistry Congress, including all plenary sessions, parallel sessions, networking sessions, exhibition area and more.

Is registration required to join the IUPAC General Assembly?

Yes, registration will be required to attend the IUPAC General Assembly.

What are the registration deadlines?

We encourage you to take advantage of our early-bird registration fees to register by 1 June 2023, at 11:59 pm CET. By registering in advance of this deadline, you will receive a lower fee and receive further relevant updates related to the event.

IUPAC|CHAINS 2023 does not have a final registration deadline. Attendees will be able to register at any time and it will even be possible to register on-site. Please note that fees will increase after 1 June 2023 and after 4 August 2023.

What is your cancellation policy?

Written cancellation must be received by the IUPAC|CHAINS2023 organization no later than 18 June 2023 to qualify for a refund. A €50.00 administration fee will apply. After 18 June 2023, there will be no refunds. To cancel a registration, contact us at info@IUPAC2023.org.

How do I apply for a Letter of Invitation?

Letters of invitations required for VISA applications can be requested by filling in the form of which you will receive a link in your confirmation message after completing registration. Please note that letters will only be sent to those who have registered and paid their registration fee. Please be sure to request a letter and apply for a VISA on time. Failure to acquire a VISA in time to travel is unfortunately not a valid reason for a refund of your registration fee.

How do you take care of privacy regulations?

Personal data will be collected, processed, stored by Congress by design (the “Processor”), on behalf of the IUPAC|CHAINS 2023 organizers, in its capacity as data controller, and shared with the IUPAC|CHAINS 2023 organizers. Congress by design will share registrant names with 3rd parties for the purpose of organising the Congress.
Delegates’ personal data will be retained securely and under the applicable law, you may, at any time, request access to your personal data, as well as its rectification, erasure or limited processing, portability of your data, or oppose to the processing by written request addressed to the Data Controller through the e-mail address iupac@congressbydesign.com.
Congress by design does not give your personal information to anyone else unless one of the following applies:
• You would reasonably expect that your information will be passed on to the recipient as part of the provision of products or services to you ancillary to your registration for this conference;
• You have consented:
• It is required or authorized by law;
• It will prevent or lessen a serious and imminent threat to somebody’s life or health;
• It is reasonably necessary for the enforcement of the criminal law or of a law imposing a pecuniary penalty, or for the protection of public revenue.

How were the conference registration prices and fees determined?

As a non-profit organization, we take pride in offering our services to the community at the lowest cost possible and this conference is no exception. The event includes:

  • A dedicated staff to organize an engaging and exciting event; and
  • The rent of a venue that allows for an all-inclusive and value-adding experience, including: audio-visual equipment, lunch, catering points, integrated networking opportunities, technical support for simple presentation uploading and setting up and support of an interactive exhibition hall.

How to get to the Venue?

The Hague is easily accessible and has a compact city centre. The Hague can be reached in a variety of ways: by car, train, bus and air. There are two airports in the vicinity of The Hague: Schiphol International Airport and Rotterdam The Hague Airport. The are both fast and easy to reach by high-speed rail, such as the Thalys.

Schiphol international Airport

Schiphol International Airport is the most user friendly airport in the world and the 5th largest of Europe. It has already repeatedly earned the accolade of being the world’s favourite airport.

Travel times between the airport and The Hague are excellent: fifty minutes by taxi and sixty minutes by public transport. Schiphol is a major international hub and the gateway to Europe.

Rotterdam The Hague Airport

Rotterdam The Hague Airport is a comfortable and easy regional airport.

Travel times between the airport and The Hague are excellent: thirty minutes by taxi and seventy minutes by public transport. At the Airport, flights are continually landing from major cities of neighbouring countries. Serving 40 destinations, Rotterdam The Hague Airport has regular flight connections to many major European cities with national and low-cost carriers.

Traveling by car

World Forum is well situated and reachable by car. Since it is in the centre, World Forum has its own parking garage, which is located directly under and beside the building.

Please note: The World Forum car park has narrow entrances and exits.

What will be the official language at the IUPAC|CHAINS 2023 congress?

The Official working language at the IUPAC|CHAINS 2023 is English. No translation will be provided.

Do I need to bring a Passport?

Entry formalities for the Netherlands vary according to the country of origin. Nationals of the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA), as well as third-country nationals holding a residence permit of a Schengen State, do not need a visa to enter the Netherlands. All non-EU citizens are asked to contact their local embassies for specific requirements. All foreign citizens entering the Netherlands must have either a valid passport or a national ID card.

Opening and welcome reception

We will kick off the symposium with the Opening Plenary on August 20 at 16:00h, the session will close at 18:30h and will be followed by the Welcome Reception with drinks and bites at the venue until 20:00h. This leaves enough time for you to have dinner somewhere in the nice city of The Hague.
