During the evening we continue to connect people!
Besides the many interesting poster and oral presentations, we also organize several actvities in the evening that you can join. More information on these activities can be found below.
Welcome Reception
On Sunday 20 August 2023 we invite all attendees to join for the Welcome Reception to celebrate the start of the congress directly after the opening ceremony and the first plenary lecture.
Ticket is included in your registration. Extra tickets can be bought via the registration page.
Chemistry Pubquiz @ O’Caseys
On Monday 21 August 2023 a pubquiz with all chemistry related questions will be organized at the largest Irish Pub of The Hague: O’Caseys. Our hosts, Nathaniel Martin and Sander van Kasteren, will challenge and entertain you during this evening. Get your ticket, and we will see you in the city center of The Hague. The Pubquiz will start at 20.00 hrs.

Every participant subscribes as an individual. These subscriptions will be grouped into teams of six participants of different nationalities to ensure maximum connection between chemical worlds. Join us, meet new people and test your knowledge!

Chemistry Party @ Bleyenberg – SOLD OUT
On Tuesday 22 August 2023 a special party for the IUPAC|CHAINS2023 World Chemistry Congress is organized. Located in the heart of The Hague, Bleyenberg is THE spot for work, inspiration & FUN. It’s an awesome 5-story concept with everything you need for a perfect day and night. Come and dance on the first rooftop bar in The Hague. Bleyenberg opens the doors at 19:30h for the party.

Gala Dinner @ the Great Church (Grote Kerk) – SOLD OUT
In the Great Church of The Hague a Gala Dinner will be organized on Thursday 24 August 2023.
Right in the historic heart of the city centre of The Hague, you will find the iconic event location: the Grote Kerk. For almost 40 years, this location has made many visitors blink upon entering. Together with the Binnenhof, the Grote Kerk is one of the oldest buildings in The Hague. The historical ambiance is therefore immediately tangible as soon as you cross the threshold.
The doors open at 19:30h and all guests are welcomed with drinks and canapés upon entering the church. After a while, all guests will be invited to be seated at the round tables with golden chairs to enjoy a nice 3-course dinner including drinks. On the background music will be playing to create the perfect ambiance.
After dinner, all guests are invited to enjoy a cup of coffee or any other drink at the other side of the church (Hoogkoor) where the evening will come to an end.
